Eight Tech Consults was contracted by Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) to customize and upgrade the E-Learning Management System (LMS) for Nalubaale-Kiira Power Station (NKPS). The project aims to enhance internal training, onboarding, and knowledge sharing by updating the system to reflect recent organizational changes and ensuring it meets evolving user needs.
The overall objective of the assignment was to customize, upgrade, and operationalize the E-Learning Management System for UEGCL at NKPS, supporting effective internal training, onboarding, and knowledge management.
The specific objectives included:
- Assess and document emerging design requirements and workflow optimizations for the LMS.
- Upgrade the LMS base technologies (e.g., Moodle, MySQL, PHP) for improved reliability, security, and performance.
- Rebrand and update system content to reflect UEGCL’s identity and current organizational structure.
- Digitize and design key training modules (Plant Safety Regulation, SHEQ Induction, HR Onboarding) and ensure quality content upload.
- Train system administrators and super users in LMS management, content creation, and course administration.
- Publish the upgraded LMS for internal access and ensure robust user support.
- Provide 12 months of post-implementation technical support and continuous improvement
