Eight Tech Consults Ltd was contracted by GIZ to provide technical support and maintenance for the Eastern Africa Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (EAAACA) website and the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network of Eastern Africa (ARIN-EA) secure platform over a one-year period. The project aimed to ensure reliable, secure, and user-friendly digital platforms to support regional anti-corruption collaboration, information sharing, and capacity building among member states.

Objectives

The overall objective of the assignment was to provide technical support in maintaining the EAAACA website and the ARIN-EA Secure Platform, ensuring their reliability, security, and effectiveness for regional anti-corruption cooperation.

The specific objectives included:

  •  Maintain and upgrade the EAAACA website and ARIN-EA secure portal to meet evolving user and security requirements.
  • Enhance platform usability, accessibility, and performance for all member states.
  • Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting to users and administrators.
  • Implement regular system updates, security patches, and technology upgrades (e.g., MySQL, PHP, Apache).
  • Develop and deliver user training materials, including SCORM-based online courses and user guides.
  • Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve platform functionality.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer and build staff capacity for ongoing platform management.

  • Conducted needs assessment and requirements gathering from users and stakeholders.
  • Maintained and upgraded system components, including backend technologies and security modules.
  • Provided ongoing troubleshooting and user support.
  • Delivered modular system upgrades using agile and batch deployment approaches.
  • Developed and deployed SCORM-based user training courses and online user guides.
  • Facilitated stakeholder engagement and incorporated feedback into system enhancements.
  • Monitored platform usage and collected analytics for continuous improvement.
  • Documented lessons learned, challenges, and user feedback.
  • Provided regular reports to GIZ and EAAACA management.
