Eight Tech Consults Ltd partnered with the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology to implement a specialized digital skilling programme for educators across selected UNITE campuses.
The programme was designed to strengthen the digital capacity of instructors and administrators, enabling them to integrate technology more effectively into teaching, learning, assessment, and institutional management.
Delivered through a blended learning model, the programme combined intensive face-to-face training with four weeks of virtual learning supported by a Learning Management System.
What We Delivered
Eight Tech Consults designed, delivered, and monitored a practical capacity-building programme covering digital literacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, digital transformation, and emerging technologies.
Educators were introduced to modern teaching and productivity tools, including ChatGPT, learning management systems, digital assessment tools, collaborative platforms, cloud productivity applications, and content creation technologies.
Training was delivered across five UNITE campuses: Kabale, Kaliro, Mubende, Muni, and Unyama.

Impact
The programme improved educators’ confidence and ability to use digital technologies in teaching and institutional operations. Participants reported stronger skills in lesson planning, digital content creation, online assessment, learner engagement, cybersecurity awareness, and use of AI tools.
More than 92% of participants indicated they would recommend the programme to other educators, demonstrating strong satisfaction and high perceived value.
The initiative helped build a foundation for sustainable blended learning and continuous professional development within participating teacher education institutions.
