Akampereza Darlington is a Software Engineer, Technical Lead, and Systems Developer with experience building scalable web, mobile, and enterprise solutions across education, accessibility, research, financial services, and smart-city technologies.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Nkumba University and has worked extensively with technologies such as React, React Native, Flutter, Node.js, PHP, Laravel, Python, GraphQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. His experience also covers system architecture, API integration, DevOps, cloud deployment, IoT, and applied artificial intelligence.
Among his key projects is TREDUMO, a higher-education management platform supporting thousands of users and digitising processes such as admissions, student records, examinations, results, graduation, finance, HR, and academic monitoring.
He has also contributed to the Persons with Disabilities Observatory, working on large-scale data management, accessibility, mobile data collection, reporting, and system improvements, as well as the Uganda Research Management System, which supports research registration, review, approval, monitoring, and institutional workflows.
His other projects include Educite, a digital legal-resource platform; TrustedEyes, an accessibility-focused visual assistance platform for blind and low-vision users, and Soma Sente, an AI-powered mobile solution for recognising Ugandan currency and providing accessible voice feedback.
Darlington has also worked on secure banking and payment integrations, including API development, HMAC authentication, VPN configuration, transaction notifications, and payment-reference validation.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Internet of Things, accessibility technologies, and smart-city systems. He is currently exploring the use of IoT and machine learning for intelligent waste collection and route optimisation in Kampala City.
