Eight tech consults finalises release of viazi mobile app.

After a successful long journey of research, prototyping, designing, development , field visits, application testing and training of users under the ICOPSEA project, a regional initiative currently operational in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, under the Ministry of Agriculture, animals and fisheries partnering with Professor Settumba Mukasa from Makerere University, Professor Samuel Kyamanywa from SENAI Bioscience Laboratories  and Harvest Plus . Eight tech consults wishes to release the viazi mobile app that can be now downloaded from  google play for android users and App store for MAC.

This project was aimed at Integrating ICT in Commercial Production of Quality Sweet potato Planting Material in East Africa thus bringing sweet potato farming closer to the people using technology tools that were developed by Eight tech consults which included a website http://www.sweetpotatoeseastafrica.org/, and a mobile Application (viazi mobile app).

The functionalities of these tools include; buying clean planting material, gardens mapping, farmers certification, reporting of disease instances, Farmer and Inspector profiling, Garden and Screen House Mapping, Garden inspection reporting (Inspectors), Capturing and sending of queries (extension services), Variety Capture (Documentation of Maturity periods and attributes) and Ordering of Roots and Vines.
