Exploring the Future of AI in Uganda: Charting New Frontiers

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to redefine how we live, work, and interact with technology. In Uganda, the national AI landscape is steadily evolving, with both the public and private sectors exploring the immense possibilities of this transformative technology. As we stand at the cusp of a new digital age, Uganda’s AI Task Force, recently established by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), represents a pivotal moment in our nation’s technological journey.

The task force aims to develop comprehensive policies and regulations that will foster the responsible use of AI, ensuring that its growth aligns with Uganda’s socio-economic development goals. By focusing on key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and education, the task force will explore how AI can be used to address some of the country’s most pressing challenges. Precision farming, AI-powered diagnostic tools, and AI-enhanced learning platforms are just a few examples of how these technologies can make a significant impact.

We at Eight Tech Consults are proud to announce that our CEO, Prof. Jude T Lubega, and our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Dr. Drake Patrick Mirembe, were nominated to be part of this prestigious AI Task Force. Their expertise in digital innovation, alongside their commitment to technological advancement in Africa, positions them as valuable contributors to shaping the future of AI in Uganda. Prof. Jude .T.
