The Belgian development agency works towards a society that provides present and future generations with sufficient resources to build a sustainable and fair world. Eight Tech Consults Limited was contracted by Enabel Belgian development agency to conduct a feasibility study for the establishment of a pilot digital hub in one selected national teachers’ college in Uganda.
The rationale for the feasibility study was to provide evidence to guide the establishment one digital hub Kabale NTC. The assignment involveD conducting activities like desk review which sought to document best practices from existing digital hubs, site appraisals of Kabale NTC, conducting sector and market analysis around Kabale Town, recommending the most adequate types of digital hub, proposing options for a management model, developing a detailed financial analysis/business plan and identifying potential Partnerships which could support the creation of a Digital Hub in one NTC. The specific objectives for this assignment included;
a) To conduct a detailed site appraisal of the selected NTC,
b) To conduct a comprehensive sector and market analysis in the NTC and its surroundings,
c) To recommend the most adequate type of digital hub for the NTC,
d) To propose options for a management model through an in-depth Institutional Development Analysis of the selected College,
e) To develop a detailed financial analysis and business plan to optimize the financial viability of the Digital Hub,
f) To identify potential Partnerships which could support the creation of a Digital Hub in one NTC.
